Ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo in closed-door meeting with PDP chieftains

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, today had a closed-door meeting with PDP leaders who paid him a visit at his home in Ota, Ogun state.

The meeting which lasted for three hours, was attended by all the 21 members of the party's National Working Committee.

Speaking on why they came to visit the former president who in February 2015 tore his membership card of the party, the National chairman of the opposition party, Uche Secondus, said they came for consultation on how to unseat the present administration.

''Obasanjo is a National leader of this country. He is the father of the nation and so we came to consult with him. Regardless of political parties, his direction is entirely needed now'' Secondus said

Also speaking, a chieftain fo the party, Bode George said.

''We must be fooling ourselves if we don't tell ourselves the truth. This is not a matter of politics. We need good managers to manage the resources of our country for the benefit of the people. Let Nigerians wake up and asked themselves if they are better off today than before? if they are not, they can change just like they do in other democratic countries so that those removed can learn. We have learnt a lesson.
