Slain Kaduna monarch, Galadima, for burial Saturday

The remains of the traditional ruler of Adara Chiefdom in Kaduna State, Dr. Maiwada Galadima, who was killed by suspected kidnappers about two weeks ago, will be buried on Saturday in the Kachia Local Government Area of the state.

The National President, Adara Development Association, Awemi Dio Maisamari, said in a statement on Friday that after a wake for the deceased on Friday night, his remains would be interred at the royal burial site, Agom Adara Palace, Kachia town on Saturday.

The monarch was on October 19 kidnapped alongside his wife by gunmen near Idon village in Kajuru Local Government Area while on his way to his palace in Kachia.

During the attack, the kidnappers killed his police orderly and a palace guard.

The abductors were said to have demanded a ransom of N100m out of which about N6m was said to have been paid. But, after collecting the money, the monarch was killed a week after, a development that sparked violence in the state, forcing the state government to impose curfew on the state.

The Department of State Services had on Wednesday paraded six suspects in connection with the abduction and killing of the traditional ruler.

Meanwhile, Maisamari in the statement called on those who would attend the burial to be peaceful.

“Adara nation wishes to call on her sons and daughters, subjects of Adara Chiefdom, friends and well-wishers to come out en masse to give our royal father a befitting, dignified and memorable farewell,” it added.
